What is pelvic floor physiotherapy?

It is an approach of the physiotherapy profession that takes care of the different dysfunctions of the pelvic floor muscles. These muscles are at the base of the pelvis, and they pass through the urethra, the vagina and the anus and can affect their functions. The pelvic floor muscles are important as they support the organs in the pelvis, and they assist in bladder control and the ano-rectal function to prevent leakage or facilitate evacuation.
