After 31 years of working in perineal rehabilitation, I am thinking about retirement, but not quite ready yet...<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From October 2025, I will maintain a reduced practice of a few days per month in order to be able to reach women who need perineal rehabilitation but do not require intensive follow-up. I will also be able to see former patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under these conditions, I will focus on the issues of perineal symptoms around menopause such as vaginal dryness, pain, which can affect the bladder and sexual relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I will conduct assessments for symptoms experienced with organ prolapse (I can install pessaries). I will be able to respond to follow-up requests when treatments have been started and require supervision or continuation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I will conduct pelvic floor assessments\/checks and exercise programs. I will offer consultations to explain\/understand the diagnoses, symptoms, and treatments of certain conditions (e.g., Lichen Sclerosus).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I will no longer be able to provide pregnancy and postpartum follow-up in physiotherapy because I will no longer have enough availability. The same goes for persistent pelvic pain problems or situations requiring weekly or bi-weekly treatment.
